Based in Northern Virginia, Tangible Ego is (also) a live music act,
featuring music by songwriter and keyboardist Benjamin D'Angelo.
Working with local musicians, Ben brings hours of his original music to life. As far back as 2015, the bedroom producer has been cooking up little melodies and piano chords. Over the years relying more and more on at-home studio technology, using the computer as a perfect backing band, fully becoming a producer and engineer, original music was released under the artist name dangelobenjamin. Tangible Ego is Ben’s latest project, still relying on in-the-box musical production, but also bringing the magic to the stage.
In 2023, Ben grabbed some of his favorite and closest musicians and took to the stage for the first time in earnest. Sure, there were a few small gigs here and there, but his original music was never the focus. Since then, he's had a chance to share his songs and improvisations at many local, artist-centric venues like Bloombars, Galactic Panther, and Artomatic, as well as play for notable performance opportunities like the Cherry Blossom Festival.

If you like Tame Impala, MGMT, Duran Duran, TV Girl, BIG DATA, Radiohead, Daft Punk, and so many others, then you’ll love Tangible Ego’s show. There are countless other artists spanning decades directly influencing and being featured on playlists, set-lists and performances. The depth of musical influence outside of just contemporary pop is notable too, and it wouldn't be out to place to say that many of Tangible Ego’s influences were at one point new genres, pushing the envelope on what was popular.
